CPFD to offer CPR Instruction to Residents.
On June 14, 2008 the Carle Place Fire Department will be hosting C.P.R./A.E.D. training. This training, open to all Carle Place community residents, their family and friends, teaches the American Heart Association’s Heart Saver CPR/AED Course. This course is comprised of Adult, Child and Infant: Chocking, Rescue Breathing and Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitations and it also teaches how to effectively use and Automated External Defibrillator. All students completing the course will receive a certificate of completion from the American Heart Association which is valid for 2 years.
Fees of the class are $75 which covers the American Hearts Student Booklet, a personal pocket facemask which is also a key chain, hand out material, the filing fees with the American Heart, who distributes the completion card and light refreshments at the class. A check made out to the Carle Place Fire Department along with a completed application (click here to download an application) mailed to CPR at CPFD PO Box 22 Carle Place, NY 11514-0022 will hold your spot in the upcoming class. If for some reason the class is unable to be filled with the required 10 people your check will be refunded. Once the application and check is received, an instructor will contact you with start time and specifics about the course needs. The instructor will also explain parking at the firehouse, items needed for the course such as a picture ID and even proper attire during the class. If you’re looking to get more information about the course you can e-mail CPR@carleplacefd.org and an instructor will answer your questions or give you more information.
