The CPFD in currently seeking member candidates for both fire and rescue personel. Making a commitment to serve as a volunteer firefighter and/or emergency medical technician is not a decision to be taken lightly. Once you understand what is involved, we hope you will find that you are able to make the commitment necessary to contribute to the safety of our community and its citizens. You will find that participation as a volunteer member of our department will bring personal satisfaction, raise self-esteem, and give you a tremendous sense of accomplishment for a job well done. Residents with Special Needs Pre-Plan Program.

The Carle Place Fire Department has implemented a residents with special needs pre-plan program which will enables the fire department to gather pre-incident data about a resident(s) with special needs. The special need could be any of a wide range of items such as a person with a disability, elderly and not so sure footed anymore or maybe just a person living alone with no emergency contact in the area. Carle Place to Host Relay for Life.

What is Relay for Life? It is how we fight back against cancer as a community. Relay for Life is an overnight celebration of Hope, Progress, and Answers. Groups of friends, families, neighbors and co-workers form teams and walk along a track, raising funds, and awareness about cancer. Relay for Life is a community walking together to celebrate the lives of those who have had cancer and remember those we have lost. Fight back against a disease that takes too much. The Relay for Life will take place May 17th and 18th on the Carle Place High School Track. Teams are now being formed for this event. Dont miss out . CPFD to offer CPR Instruction to Residents.

On June 14, 2008 the Carle Place Fire Department will be hosting C.P.R./A.E.D. training. This training, open to all Carle Place community residents, their family and friends, teaches the American Heart Association’s Heart Saver CPR/AED Course. This course is comprised of Adult, Child and Infant: Chocking, Rescue Breathing and Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitations and it also teaches how to effectively use and Automated External Defibrillator. All students completing the course will receive a certificate of completion from the American Heart Association which is valid for 2 years.

Fees of the class are $75 which covers the American Hearts Student Booklet, a personal pocket facemask which is also a key chain, hand out material, the filing fees with the American Heart, who distributes the completion card and light refreshments at the class. A check made out to the Carle Place Fire Department along with a completed application (click here to download an application) mailed to CPR at CPFD PO Box 22 Carle Place, NY 11514-0022 will hold your spot in the upcoming class. If for some reason the class is unable to be filled with the required 10 people your check will be refunded. Once the application and check is received, an instructor will contact you with start time and specifics about the course needs. The instructor will also explain parking at the firehouse, items needed for the course such as a picture ID and even proper attire during the class. If you’re looking to get more information about the course you can e-mail CPR@carleplacefd.org and an instructor will answer your questions or give you more information.

Computer System - Helps us serve you.

The CPFD has purchased a new computer system "FireTracker". This program contains pre-plan information that allows us to serve you better by giving us a better idea what we are responding to prior to an emergency. This program, in addition to our pagers and sirens, notifies our membership of emergencies by sending out text messages for each alarm. Firetracker also assists our volunteers complete all reporting required by the State of New York. (Click Here to Learn More about FireTracker)

New Rescue Pumper in Service

The Carle Place Fire Department is currently purchased a Custom Class A Rescue Pumper. This vehicle was designed to handle responses to Auto Accidents and Car Fires which accounts for over 20% of the CPFD's alarm response. This vehicle carries 500 gallons of water, has a 30 gallon foam tank, the Jaws of Life and all equipment required to extinguish any fire. The truck was built by Ferrara Fire Apparatus.

The members of the CPFD webteam are now in the process of developing an online photo section of our site so you can see the members of the CPFD in action. Photos will include various incidents we respond to as well as daily operations of the CPFD.
